Bio:  I have lived in Alaska since 1970, when my family moved up from Jacksonville Florida. It was a new start, and a good one at that. I graduated from Chugiak High School in 1973, and found my way into state employment as a Correctional Officer in 1974. I had a great career with DOC, and retired in 1997 after 23 years. During that time I've had five kids, four boys and one girl. Two of the boys ride, and all are good kids. After retiring from state service, I found my way into sales, eventually becoming the sales manager of the states largest RV dealer. Terri and I married in 1991. She is my partner and friend. Together in 2005 we started Midnight Sun Rider "Alaska's only Motorcycle Magazine." Sales is a time consuming career. I decided that I needed to dedicate more time to Midnight Sun Rider so I left that career, and dusted off my old resume' from my time in corrections, and started working with security at the Port of Anchorage. After two years publishing Midnight Sun Rider advertising revenue fell below the level needed to continue publishing. We had the readers, there just wasn't enough adverting in Alaska to support a magazine of the caliber that MSR evolved into. I now work with security in remote Kuparuk, AK north of the arctic circle and maintain a house in Florida while also keeping a home in Wasilla Alaska. I get the best of two worlds, wildlife and scenic beauty in Alaska and warm, sunny biker friendly weather in Florida... well, most of the time anyway.
Interests:  Motorcycling is my passion, and with that passion I have found Biker Poetry. Poetry allows me to express in words the feelings and emotions that are a part of the biker lifestyle. Poetry eventually led me to writing and reporting on the Alaska motorcycle community. The lack of any journal for the bikers of Alaska led Terri and I to launch Midnight Sun Rider. I have been blessed with good kids, and the best wife anyone could ask for. Wile not religious, I recognize a spirituality that rests in myself and others. I enjoy a good book on American history when I have the time, and also like diving off into the future with Science Fiction, but a good Stephen King novel will also draw me in. History however is a favorite topic for me, and I marvel at our society when collectively we forget it.
